In our exploration of the spiritual realms, we have previously mentioned Raymond Buckland’s in-depth studies into the parapsychological aspects of entities existing within the astral planes, as well as those interwoven with the subtle world.
Within the Meomerswiell Seax Coven, we engage in the practice of Galdra, allowing us to experiment with techniques recommended by Buckland in his work, The Red Book: Communication with Spirits. I have coined this discipline as “Becoleap,” or “Witch Spectre.”
Buckland said on June 16, 2017 about the new discipline that the Meomersowiell Seax Coven develop based in the Spirit Communication Book and others Hypnoteraphy methods, in the same sense, he answered about adapt Thelema and Kabbalah methods in the Seax-Wica Magickal practice or use some drugs to do it:
“Greetings and blessings, Juan. The new disciplines sound good. Well done! But for Seax-Wica, avoid both Crowley and Qabbalah. Qabbalah is, of course, the magic of Judaism and we are not Jewish. Crowley’s magic is his own. They are both practices (though Qabbalah with the overtones of the Jewish religion) and as such there is nothing wrong with someone practicing them if they so choose . . . just don’t try to make them a part of Seax-Wica. Neither is, of course, Saxon. Similarly, in Seax-Wica – or any form of Wicca actually – there should be no need for the use of herbs of any sort in order to reach a magical state for we can reach that state through the gods ourselves without the need for articifal stimulants. As I say, all of these things are fine in themselves, for the individual; they are just not a part of Seax-Wica and no one should try to make them a part of it.“
This discipline is continuously evolving, awakening a conscious sensitivity to our surroundings and utilizing our physical senses to perceive the invisible forces that envelop us.
The following writings inspired by our experiences reveal the spiritual world that a Becoleap can come to know and appreciate:
On the Hag
You may perceive Death hovering over certain individuals,
Glimpsing in their eyes the shadow of waiting.
You can interact with her, yet she will remain oblivious
To the reasons that should deter her from those she has chosen to claim.

Death is not singular; it is a myriad of entities,
Known among our people as the Hag.
Those burdened by the Hag endure sleepless nights,
Breathing becomes a struggle.

The Hag seeks the soul of those she takes,
Allowing the spirit to follow its path into the beyond,
Yet the soul, like a garment, she dons and consumes until it no longer serves.
With the soul, she returns and deceives those who succumb to grief.

On the Wights
Wights typically protect individuals,
Ensuring their passage is peaceful,

So the Hags do not claim their souls.
Some Hags linger near those engulfed in sorrow or melancholy,
Tormenting their dreams.
When Hags engage in this behavior,
They are referred to as Maera or Mara.
They attract benevolent Wights and frighten the malevolent ones,

Known as Puccel, allies of the Hag.
Offer honey and milk to soothe the Puccels.
To master Death is a challenge for those who can see them,
Yet there is no greater transaction than one life for another.
The Hags must always prevail, while someone must inevitably lose.
The Hags can hasten your final hour or delay it;
Once you have felt their touch, you may become a Becoleap (Witch Spectre).

On the Deofol
Our people understand that there are natural spirits seeking a physical vessel.
Children of Heid (Gullveig) are known as Deofol,
Entities who, alongside the Hags and Puccels, strive to possess something of the fallen.

When a just and virtuous man passes,
As in the ancient times when the Wælcyrge (valkyries)
Led by Freo (Freya), would frighten these evil spirits,
Transporting soul and spirit to Gimlé in the region of Okolnir,
Meaning “Never Cold,” or the Land of Summer – Summerland,
Where the Brewery of Brimir resides,
And there, these souls share in the revelry.

Conversely, the vile and corrupt are claimed by the Deofol,
Who take their spirits to Nastrond in Niflheim,
Where Nidhoggr torments them eternally.
The Deofol believe that in doing so, they may one day reclaim their fallen kin, offering a silent tribute.
Following Hela’s death in Ragnarok,
It is Heimdall who, by severing Loki’s life,
Assumes the role of Guardian of the Underworld,
Ensuring that evil does not return from Nastrond,
Cunningly controlling the Deofol in their silent dealings.
On the Dreag
The body of the just man, blessed and protected by the Elves and Wights, rests in his grave.
Yet the unjust man finds neither body nor soul at rest.

The Deofol take the soul from the Hags and gather the body from its grave,
And this man rises again.
This unlife animated by dark forces is known as a Dreag.
The Deofol, clad in the soul and body of the vile man,
Rises from his grave with a ravenous hunger.
His presence can drive those nearby to madness,
And the stench of decay lingers from afar.
The Dreag murders its victims, crushing them with its body,
Devouring their flesh whole, driving them to insanity, or drinking their blood.
Thanks to the Deofol, the Dreag wields Trollskap,
The magic that allows it to shapeshift, control the weather, and predict the future.
It can increase its size and weight,
Interfering with the dreams of the living, cursing its victims,
Bringing sickness to towns, and cloaking the daylight in darkness.
While primarily nocturnal, it can also be active during the day,
Yet at night, it glows, as does its tomb.

If a man falls prey to a Dreag,
He becomes like them upon his death, even if he was a just man.
A Dreag cannot be wounded or killed by conventional weapons;
Only a true hero possesses the strength and courage to overcome it.
Primarily, it must be confronted in its burial ground,
Defeated, beheaded, burned, and its ashes cast into the sea.
A Becoleap knows these circumstances and wisely prevents them.
Whoever masters the Craft can access all elements of each Plane and each World, thus achieving growth and transcendence—transforming in every life toward what is most perfect and most beautiful.
To be an Eternal Being.
This is the Path of the Becoleap, and when one transcends in life, they become an Immortal.
