What happens if, in Seax-Wica (the path you wish to follow), there are people you don’t like?
When a person finds a spiritual, religious, and magical path that truly inspires them and aligns with their identity, they are consciously choosing the “Path”, a path that encompasses a vast sea of individuals, most of whom are unknown to us at first but will gradually become familiar over time.
It is important to understand that you cannot discredit the Path just because a few people do not act as you expected, or simply because you do not like them. People are people; the Path is the Path. We must not lose sight of the essential purpose or abandon the journey because of the actions or attitudes of a few.
The Path does not impose strict codes of behavior, nor is there an authority that punishes or sanctions deviations in the material world. The consequences we face when walking out of balance are of a spiritual nature, not mundane.
Seax-Wica is a path that can be walked alone or with a group, but it is always a deeply personal journey. On this path, we vow to love the Gods and to love what They love. As initiates, we are loved by the Gods in the same way that we love Them.
What is Love?
The love we speak of is Agape, unconditional love, divine charity that flows from the Gods to humans, and from humans to the Gods. This Love is an elevated expression of the bond we share with the sacred. To love the Gods and to be loved by Them is the essence of our practice, and this love is the Law that binds us together in an eternal and unbreakable union.
How could any other feeling exist when you gather with people who love what you love and what you love loves you, just as it loves them?
When we gather in a Coven, a Moot, or a Witan, we do so of our own free will, in a spirit of Peace and Love. If you attend a gathering without peace in your heart and without love for the Gods, then you may be breaking the sacred vow to love those who love what you love. For our commitment is not only to love the Gods, but to love those who, like us, love Them.
What if someone in the group doesn’t sit well with me or seems toxic to others?
That person, just like you, has sworn to love the Gods and those whom the Gods love. That is why, in Seax-Wica, we practice in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. What we love, we care for, and from that care arises the duty to be present in both good and difficult times, because we are a spiritual family. We love what the Gods love, and in that bond, we become ONE with Them.
If someone behaves toxically, they must remember that they cannot act this way toward those who share the same love for the Gods. Should they deviate from this love, they would be straying from the Path, and in time, they would cease to be recognized as an initiate, for loving the Gods means necessarily loving those whom They love.
Loving in freedom
Choosing the Seax Tradition means loving our Gods by conviction and in full freedom. In doing so, we are also called to love each person who shares that love. This is the logic of Love that guides us, and Raymond Buckland left us with two clear examples of this unconditional love:

The Love Of the Priest and the Priestess
You may come to them for a few moments, then go away and do whatever you will; their love is unchanging.
You may deny them to themselves or to yourself, then curse them to any who will listen; their love is unchanging.
You may become the most despised of creatures, then return to them; their love is unchanging.
You may become the enemy of the gods themselves, then return to them; their love is unchanging.
Go where you will; stay however long you will and come back to them; their love is unchanging.
Abuse others; abuse yourself; abuse them and come back to them; their love is unchanging.
They will never criticize you; they will never minimize you; they will never fail you, because to them you are everything and they themselves are nothing.
They will never deceive you; they will never ridicule you; they will never fail you, because to them you are God/Goddess-nature, to
be served and they are your servants.
No matter what befalls you, No matter what you become, They await you always. They know you; they serve you; they love you.
Their love for you, in the changing world, is unchanging. Their love, beloved, is unchanging.
