From São Paulo to Stonehenge: A Journey of Brotherhood, Love, and Magic

Every great ceremony begins long before the altar is set. In this case, the journey started in São Paulo, Brazil, during the Spring Equinox of the Southern Hemisphere, on September 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2024, during a historic event that has left a lasting mark on the Latin American Pagan community: the Conference of Wicca and Goddess Spirituality, organized by Gardnerian initiate Claudiney Prieto.

It was on the evening of September 21st, during a celebratory dinner with all the speakers, that we witnessed a deeply moving moment: Alexander Cabot knelt before his beloved partner Alex and proposed marriage in front of all of us. The room was filled with awe and heartfelt joy as this sacred promise unfolded before our eyes.

That moment, simple yet profoundly symbolic, was more than a proposal—it was a sacred oath made in the presence of the Gods, the Ancestors, and the Elements. There stood my priestess Eostre Æfer (Seax-Wica), Claudiney Prieto, Eduardo and Valentina, Nadini Lopez (Gardnerian), Susan Marie Paramor, and many dear friends of the Craft. That night, the first threads were woven—threads of a ritual journey that would later unfold beneath the ancient skies of Albion.

✈️ Preparing the Journey: From Peru to the United Kingdom

Months later, in March 2025, I crossed the Atlantic from Peru to the United Kingdom. This was not a mere geographical relocation—it was a spiritual pilgrimage. I carried with me not only my physical luggage, but also the blessings of my ancestors, the energy of the Meomerswiell Seax Coven, my travel altar, and the good wishes of a community that understands love as a sacred act.

My destination: Stonehenge, the beating heart of ancient European magic, where Alexander and Alex would seal their union in a handfasting ceremony during the Spring Equinox of the Northern Hemisphere.

Being invited as the Ring Bearer was a profound honor—one of the most meaningful moments of my priesthood. In the Seax-Wica tradition, we do not have absolute hierarchies, but we do honor the nobility of spirit, sincere brotherhood, and dedicated service to the Gods and the community. Alexander embodies all of these virtues and more: learned, compassionate, devoted, and deeply human—a true Priest of the Craft.

🌄 The Sunrise at Stonehenge

The ceremony took place at dawn, precisely at 5 AM (UK time). The morning chill was gently warmed by the love radiating from the circle of people gathered around us. As the first rays of equinox sunlight poured through the ancient stones of Stonehenge, they marked the invisible line between darkness and light—a perfect omen for the beginning of a new life together.

The handfasting was officiated by Susan Marie Paramor, in her role as priestess and druidess, and witnessed by Arthur Uther Pendragon, Knight and Guardian of Stonehenge, who brought with him the ancestral strength of the Arthurian mythos. The vows spoken that morning carried the weight of sacred commitment. This was not merely a legal or sentimental union—it was a magical act, a weaving of destinies in the presence of the Earth, the Gods, and the seen and unseen.

As the Ring Bearer, I felt I was holding more than just the tokens of eternal love—I was holding the ritual weight of a sacred legacy.

I have long stood for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community within Paganism, always within the bounds of reason and in harmony with the values of the Old Religion. This handfasting was, in itself, a powerful declaration of love without barriers, without constraints, and without masks. It was living proof that true magic does not discriminate, does not hide, does not negotiate. It manifests. It celebrates. It consecrates.

Alexander and Alex were not just joining as partners—they were joining as souls committed to a path of wisdom, beauty, and sacred power. It was deeply inspiring to witness how diverse traditions—Wicca, Druidry, Hermeticism, and Arthurian mysticism—interwove in mutual respect and sacred harmony. None competed with the others; instead, they danced together like ancient sisters, reflecting a shared devotion to the Divine.
